Philosophy (Ask C.K.)

Upon reading the Novel beyond Chapter 10, there will be much philosophical aspects which may be less obvious to readers but nevertheless, important for the progress of the Novel. Ask the author, C.K., about any philosophy related to the Novel here:

for example:

Q: Why must life have pain and pleasure? Is it possible to have happiness without sadness in our world?

A: Happiness and sadness are two ends of the same stick; hold it and the two opposite elements are held together. This is much like the saying

you can’t eat the cake and have it

we all have to forgo something to achieve what we want. Like to buy that Ferrari? Fork out $400,000 and it’s yours. Putting it in everyday terms; we eat when we feel hungry. Hunger and fullness form an endless cycle that is bound by desire. When there is hunger, there will then be fullness and looking from the opposite perspective; when there is fullness, there will then be hunger… a cycle that lasts as long as we live, a cycle bounded by desire to feed…
